New Year. New learnings.

While each and every school year that passes presents new opportunities for growth, this year is a special one. Remote and hybrid learning, amongst other shifts, have changed education in unprecedented ways.

In Part 2 of the Insights & Innovation Webinar Series, you will hear from three ThinkCERCA educators on how they utilize the program to increase student engagement across various learning environments. You will discover how to use ThinkCERCA’s flexible framework to design, deliver, and measure your students’ writing skills and goals across subjects.

This hour-long event includes two presentations and a live Q&A with members of the ThinkCERCA team.

Presentation 1: Taking CERCA to the Next Level…Engage 2.0

  • Presenter: Mrs. Kimberly Palmer has been an educator for over 20 years. Currently she is an 8th grade Language arts teacher at General Ray Davis in Rockdale County.  "Palmer" as she is called by her educator friends and colleagues, has been an AVID national trainer and is currently the Gifted department Chair, teacher mentor, and part of her school's leadership team. Kim also aids her school district in deconstructing language arts standards, designing unit assessments, and delivering instructional strategies to aid ELA teachers in best researched based instructional practices.

Presentation 2: Color-Coded Essays Using the CERCA Framework

  • Presenter: Shelby Walker is currently in her 6th year teaching 7th grade English/Language Arts at Franklin Junior High School in Ohio. Shelby has been using ThinkCERCA with fidelity for 3 years and she has seen the growth in her students writing skills during that time. When she is not teaching, she has her hands full with a 3 year old, a 1 year old, a husband and 2 Goldendoodles!
  • Presenter: Krystal Baker is a seventh grade ELA teacher at Franklin Junior High School in Ohio. She has consistently used ThinkCERCA for three years. She has found success in using the program not only as a tool when teaching writing, but also as a platform to allow students to set measurable writing goals and work toward taking steps to achieve those goals.
